Route 1
We will visit an innovative mountain farm in Lenzerheide. At 1400 meters above sea level, the Kiwi cross dairy cows of family Bläsi graze 24/7 during the entire vegetation period. We will hear how the farm became part of a local initiative to make agriculture climate friendly. After an easy 15-minute walk, we reach the summer farm of the agricultural college Plantahof. In its newly constructed cheese making facility, we will taste the products of the farm.
Route 2
Explore the wild mountain valley of Weisstannen and visit the summer farm of Alp Siez. We will learn how the team manages 180 dairy cows and 45 dairy goats while producing traditional cheeses. We will explore the different elevation levels of the farm and taste local products in the farm’s own restaurant. Finally, you can choose between getting introduced into the local plant species diversity or doing a short hiking trip to a waterfall nearby.
